Title: A Volunteerism Make-over: New Ways to Approach Volunteerism in Veterinary Associations
This session is designed for Executive Directors and CEOs of veterinary medical associations to attend with 1-2 elected officers from their organizations.
Session is included with AVMA VLC registration
Description:
Is volunteering dead? Contrary to the chatter in the association sphere, volunteering is not dead. A better characterization is it’s in a slump. The slump is happening because we’re in a major shift in volunteering. Join us for a deep dive into this evolution in volunteering. We’ll use the 2023 research from ASAE Foundation and case studies to explore how veterinary associations can define their volunteer system for tomorrow, for the workforce of today. In the session we will
- Learn key findings from the 2023 research on holistic approaches to volunteer management in associations;
- Explore examples of how associations are applying concepts from the research; and
- Discuss steps that veterinary association leaders can use to explore ways to evolve their volunteer structure, systems, and processes.
