Executive of the Year

The 2018 Executive of the Year was presented to Chris Copeland at the Texas VMA for accomplishments in membership and financial growth and for initiating successful programs and services. In addition to the hard work performed for his VMA, Chris has also served as board member for severall associations including VMAE, American Veterinary Medical Law Association, and the Texas Society of Association Executives. He has created a cohesive team at his VMA office where collaboration and camaraderie prevail. His VMA president penned a recommendation letter that captures how deserving a candidate he truly is. “Chris Copeland is an exemplary executive director because of his servant leader ideals and Herculean work ethic. He has served with distinction at the right hand of 11 TVMA presidents. He is an excellent example of the level of expertise and knowledge that an individual has to possess to be successful as executive director of a large state association.”

Best in Business Award

The Arizona VMA was presented the 2018 Best in Business Award for their Pet Resource Guide which reflects originality in content, creativity, and usefulness. The Pet Resource Directory, designed for their members to distribute to their clients, has combined in one attractive guide useful information for pet owners. It includes important telephone numbers and contact info of emergency animal clinics and hospitals, boarding facilities, and mobile veterinary services. It also has space devoted to desert dangers, teaching children how to prevent dog bites, holiday safety tips, and summer pet tips. The Arizona VMA has also been contacted by realtors who would like to provide the Pet Resource Directory to their clients.
