300 to 1,000 words of self-talk enter in your mind every minute of every day. You can allow this self-talk to drive your emotions & behaviors, or you can take control of your self-talk and grow your resilience. Stories from people like Simon Sinek and Kobe Bryant will illustrate how conscious decisions to become more present can help us to narrate our own stories.

Leaps and Bound(aries): Real Self-Care and Real Change for VMA Executives
Jen Brandt, MSW, LISW-S, PhD
Director of Wellbeing and Diversity Initiatives
American Veterinary Medical Association
Often, the solutions we seek to improve individual and team mental health and wellbeing provide only temporary relief. Despite the multitrillion-dollar global wellness industry, little has been aimed at challenging or changing the social systems that have us craving relief in the first place. At its core, real self-care is an ongoing internal process that requires decision-making, setting boundaries, learning to treat yourself with compassion, and living a life aligned with your beliefs and values. In turn, real self-care has the potential to shift our relationships, our workplace culture, and even our social systems. In this interactive seminar, participants will learn essential tools and skills for boundary setting—the cornerstone of real self-care and real change.
