Dr. Elizabeth Strand is the Founding Director of Veterinary Social Work (VSW) and the “All Creatures Great and Small” Endowed Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Tennessee Colleges of Social Work and Veterinary Medicine. As a licensed clinical social worker and experienced family therapist, her professional mission is to improve the health and well-being of animals and the people who care for them.

Dr. Matthew Salois is passionate about applying economics, statistics and communications to enhance the daily lives of veterinarians. Before joining the AVMA as Director of Veterinary Economics in 2018, he held positions in the private industry, government and academia. Dr. Salois earned his Ph.D. in Food and Resource Economics from the University of Florida, as well as an M.A. in Applied Economics and a B.S. in Health Services Administration from the University of Central Florida.
