A virtual career fair is an opportunity to have job seekers and employers come together virtually via a computer, eliminating the hassle and expense of traveling to an in-person career fair event. Job seekers and employers will have the opportunity to connect, network and interview in a virtual environment designed for confidentiality, efficiency and professionalism. The employer is guided every step of the way to confidently put forward their best appearance to the job seeker. There is a fee for the employer to purchase a virtual booth and there must be a dedicated person available to chat with potential job seekers.

There is no cost for the association to sign up and offer this recruitment tool to their members. Career Eco is the host of the platform for the virtual career fair. There is a potential to earn non-dues revenue from Online Career Fair booths purchase by your members.

Participating associations will be required to distribute minimal marketing messages with help from Boxwood Technologies, the managing organization of the Veterinary Career Network (VCN). Boxwood will manage and support the marketing the event in its entirety.

  • Boxwood will create and send out generic branding emails to all registered job seekers and employers active on the participating career centers over the past 24 months
    • Email messaging will be focused on job seeker and employer participation
  • Boxwood will place an event marketing banner on the top of each participating career center during the promotional period, with a click through link to the event site.
  • Participating career centers will receive 4 email templates from Boxwood that they can send to their membership/affiliate audience.
  • Participating career centers are strongly encouraged to promote the event on their website, organization events calendar, in electronic and printed publications and in social media. Assistance by Boxwood with messaging is available so please ask for help!

With the veterinary unemployment rate below 1%, it is important for employers to use all tools available to them to attract the team members they need for their businesses. This is a way to reach candidates in a modern, virtual fashion. Offering this option to your members helps to reaffirm that you, their association, is aware that recruitment is vital to the success of veterinary businesses and are looking for ways assist them reach the audience that is needed.
