2019 Executive of the Year
Christine Shupe, CAE
Veterinary Hospital Managers Association

The 2019 Executive of the Year was presented to Christine Shupe, Veterinary Hospital Managers Association (VHMA), for accomplishments in membership and financial growth and for initiating successful programs and services. Under her leadership for the last 21 years at VHMA they increased membership by 361%, received accreditation for their Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM) program through the Institute for Credentialing Excellence (ICE), publish a bi-annual comprehensive compensation and benefits report with the Ontario VMA for every staff member in the practice, and in 2011 they launched an exclusive online networking community dedicated to veterinary practice management.

Her president penned a recommendation letter that captures how deserving a candidate she truly is. “For those of us who work closely with her, we know her as kind and humble. Someone with unwavering integrity who holds herself to the same ethics, fairness, and accountability we expect from every member and few attain with such grace. Christine’s ability to lead and influence has encouraged so many to give our time and efforts to our mission. There I no doubt that the VHMA has reached these levels of success because of Christine’s contribution.”
